Learning the blues is a great way for the beginning guitarist to establish a good foundation. This video will cover three different facets of a 12 bar blues in the key of A. The first is a simple single note line that follows the form and chords of the progression. The second is the riff which is the most recognized sound when listening to blues. The third is the chords that make up the 12 bar blues progression. To improvise over a 12 bar blues in a go to the pentatonic scale section of the website and go to the key of C / A minor and start with position three. This scale is the most commonly used scale in blues and rock music.
